Register now for upcoming trainings on Building Commissioning

This Fall, DOE/FEMP is sponsoring two one-day trainings on Building Commissioning. The trainings are offered free for Federal employees. Registration is now open. Don't miss this great opportunity!

The Details:
What?
The training, titled Building Commissioning to Optimize Efficiency and Operations at Federal Facilities, will provide an overview of building commissioning, customized for a Federal audience.

Training topics include: commissioning for new & existing buildings; the facility staff's role in the commissioning process; costs and benefits of commissioning; commissioning for LEED certification; and case studies of commissioning Federal facilities.

Who?
Federal employees, including: financial decision-makers, energy managers, project managers, building and facility managers, architects, engineers, and O&M staff.

When & Where?
(1) October 28, 2004 (8:30 am - 4:00 pm) at SCE's CTAC facility in Irwindale, CA.

(2) November 18, 2004 (8:30 am - 4:00 pm) at PG&E's Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco, CA.

Cost?
The trainings are being paid for by DOE/FEMP and are free for Federal employees (travel expenses are not covered).

Why?
Increasingly, Federal agencies are incorporating building commissioning into the design and construction of Federal buildings and commissioning existing facilities to reduce energy costs and improve indoor environmental quality (IEQ). Largely, these commissioning activites have been instigated by the requirements of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 and EO 13123, as well as the USGBC's LEED certification program.

This is a great opportunity to learn about building commissioning - in a Federal context and with fellow Federal employees.

How do I register?
By October 15, 2004, complete a Registration Form and return it to Emily Moore by email or fax (503) 295-0820.
